Milk sandwich weather

The Great Blizzard of 2011 dumped 6-9 inches of snow on my car on January 10. Nothing much got done that day. Or the next.

By this time tomorrow, if predictions bear out, Greenville will be covered in snow. As much as five inches by some estimates, with the first of it making landfall this afternoon. That distant sucking sound you hear is local grocery store shelves being emptied of white bread and milk.

By this time next week, I’ll have attended a meeting of my condominium owners’ association’s board of directors, my maiden voyage as a member of that board, and by this time next month, I’ll have attended auditions in Blowing Rock and Atlanta. All three tests of my acting ability, the latter two somewhat more likely that the first to bear fruit during my lifetime. The pace of the decision making process can be every bit as glacial in a small bureaucracy as in a large one.
