The cash cow
I wasn’t looking forward to the photo call for this show. 15 headshots, 3 promo setups and only a broad-stroke plan of action. But more concerning than the volume and vagueness of what lay before me was the nature of the people to be photographed: pop vocalists and musicians, for the most part, very few of whom have any theatrical experience. Would they roam the building like cats or would they come when they were called? Would they grind their reefer coals into the bathroom linoleum and park their Harleys on the grass?
Happily, my fears were unfounded. Nothing was stolen or vandalized. No shots were fired.
The images at right link to the refined fruit of our labours … a series of three posters, 95% complete. With sponsorships and donations drying up and ticket sales providing little consolation, Rock ‘n Roll Heaven is something of a make-or- break proposition for us and one we’ll market more aggressively than any other show of the season.
Ah, for the days when box office figures were a matter of only academic interest.
