Ass in gear

The trick, I’ve realized, isn’t finding a story to tell or even figuring out how to tell it. Storyboards and logistics are easy. The trick is getting my ass in gear.

One way of getting my ass in gear is to put myself in the path of an already moving project and wait for it to hit me. Similar to how a bug might aim for windshields on the highway. I’ve tried the bug method and it works. It’s messy, but it works.

Another way that I’ve yet to try but think might work better is to organize very short-term collaborative projects myself. It helps to create expectations in the minds of others. Which brings me back to getting my ass in gear.
