Fallout shelter
The eight-inch-thick poured concrete walls with the nuclear blast shadows molded into them give this public restroom in progress at One Main Plaza a distinctly post-apocalyptic flavor. Yum! The petrified wood textures, the rubble and the rebar jutting up where a roof should be are nice touches, too.
Eventually, a roof will be added and granite pavers will replace the construction debris, but I’ll remember it at its most evocative, as seen through the lens of Whitley Strieber’s Critical Mass.
