Conventional wisdom tells us the friend of my friend is my friend. Accordingly, the former Swamp Rabbit Trail has become the Greenville Health System Swamp Rabbit Trail, and the former Bi-Lo Center has become Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

But if the term “wellness arena” brings no clear concept to mind, please allow me to explain. It’s the same thing as a civic arena, more specifically that magical subset of civic arenas where athletes and entertainers make smooth the way of wellness. And family. And grandma rollin’ out the dough for that famous apple pie. In Heaven.

So it seems only natural that when I think about health these days, I think Greenville Health System. And when I think about wellness, doggone if I don’t think Bon Secours. And grandma. And snow-capped mountains of dough.
